HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Easier) hosts regular Housing Forums to address key challenges and solutions in Ventura County’s housing landscape. These sessions provide a platform for professionals, community members, and officials to discuss issues like affordability, housing policy, and innovative housing solutions.

Who should attend: Anyone with a desire to address housing and health issues of our County's most vulnerable populations, homeless or those at risk, and persons with mental or behavioral health issues.
What you need to know: This forum will be part presentation, part Q&A with panelists, and part open discussion. Frontline experience and perspectives are needed to shape future policy, develop collaborations, and impart practical solutions.

We were honored to welcome Supervisor Vianey Lopez, who provided a thoughtful update on Ventura County’s coordinated housing and homelessness strategy. Key insights included:
• Housing insecurity is complex and requires collaboration + accountability
• The County’s “Coming Home” Plan is guiding long-term systems change
• Unsheltered homelessness decreased by 8.5% this past year
• 594 housing units have been completed since 2024
• Major investments are strengthening behavioral health services and prevention
• Partnerships across cities, nonprofits, developers, and service providers remain essential
