About HOME's Annual Housing Conference
Held annually, HOME's Ventura County Housing Conference is a half day conference, which explores changes, trends and issues relevant to the housing climate in Ventura County. Our goal is to bring together the best and brightest minds working on behalf of Ventura County communities to share resources, provide insight, and offer technical assistance.
CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
The goal of the Annual Ventura County Housing Conference is to educate the public on pertinent and timely housing issues, especially those with a great effect on Ventura County. This years' theme "Taking a Closer Look" entails examined the area's housing cost, availability and development process in order to develop real-world solutions, partnerships and greater understanding.
WHO ATTENDED? Housing, community and non-profit advocates; elected officials, civic and business leaders; planners, developers and architects; lenders and real estate professionals; everyone concerned about housing!

- Two panels of municipal leaders (senior staff and elected officials) - learn what the cities/County are doing to address the development industries' concerns, housing shortage and affordability, and Sacramento's directives.
- Student team from Cal State University Channel Islands - Students in the economics program presented their research to dispel some housing myths and bring into closer focus our current situation and trajectory.
- Networking and Dialogue - building on our quarterly Housing Issues Forums, there was plenty of opportunity to build effective dialog between the industry, municipal leaders and the public.
- Exhibit hall - 23 organizations displayed what is happening in housing and community development through an expanded and interactive exhibit area.
- Breakfast - Smokin' Steve served breakfast for all attendees
