About the Event
The Annual Ventura County Housing Conference is the flagship event for Housing Opportunities Made Easier (HOME). The goal of the conference is to educate the public on pertinent and timely housing issues, especially those with a great effect on Ventura County.
The Annual Ventura County Housing Conference addresses the availability and affordability of housing in Ventura County. Without a range of housing choices within a community, key community members such as teachers, police, and retail workers quickly get priced out of the housing market, and are forced to commute long distances in order to live in a home which they can afford. Alternatively, the high cost of housing forces some families into overcrowded and sub-standard housing situations which creates health and safely risks for many children of low-income families. In the worst cases, families who are forced to over-extend themselves in order to pay for housing may be pushed into homelessness through the loss of a job, or unexpected medical expenses.
Thanks to everyone who made the 8th Annual Conference a success!
